UAE-based offshore support vessel owner Gulf Marine Services (GMS) has secured a 183-day contract extension for one of its small-class vessels operating in the GCC region.
The extension was awarded by a major national oil company in the Middle East under an existing agreement, further extending the vessel’s current contract period and supporting GMS’s ongoing operations in the region.
The client also has two further three-month extension options thereafter. GMS’ current backlog stands at $659m.
The extension will allow the vessel to continue supporting the client’s offshore maintenance operations without interruption.
“This extension further strengthens fleet utilisation, which remains central to the delivery of our objectives,” said Mansour Al Alami, GMS executive chairman.
Founded in 1977, GMS operates a fleet of 15 self-propelled, self-elevating support vessels, spanning small, mid and large classes.
The units are designed to handle a wide range of offshore work, from platform maintenance and well intervention to installation and decommissioning, as well as offshore wind support.UAE-based offshore support vessel owner Gulf Marine Services (GMS) has secured a 183-day contract extension for one of its small-class vessels operating in the GCC region.
