EXMAR has taken delivery of the 146,000 cubic metre LNG carrier SIMAISMA, secured under an initial seven-year charter agreement with a first-class counterpart.
The vessel will soon undergo dry-docking and modifications to enable its conversion into a floating transshipment unit (FTU) dedicated to the LNG bunkering market. The upgraded unit will receive large LNG volumes from trading LNG carriers, while specialised LNG bunkering vessels will load from the FTU to supply ships operating on cleaner LNG fuel.
