Ahead of Posidonia 2026, DryDel Shipping is pleased to announce the further expansion of its newbuilding programme through the signing of contracts for three additional dry bulk vessels at leading Japanese shipyards, reinforcing the company's long-term commitment to fleet renewal, operational efficiency, and environmental sustainability.
The 3 new agreements include:
- One Kamsarmax 82,000 dwt at Shin Kurushima S/Y, with delivery expected within 2028
- One Ultramax 64,000 dwt at Nihon Shipyard (Imabari), with delivery scheduled for 2029
- One Ultramax 64,000 dwt at Oshima Shipyard, with delivery scheduled for 2030
All three vessels will be Tier III / Phase 3 compliant, next-generation super eco designs focused on fuel efficiency, lower emissions and long-term commercial competitiveness.
Since 2021, DryDel has placed more than 20 newbuilding orders exclusively at top-tier Japanese shipyards, representing a considerable dry bulk investment across vessel segments ranging from Handysize to Capesize.
Over the past two years alone, the Company has successfully taken delivery of 10 Japanese-built newbuildings. Following these latest agreements, DryDel’s forward hashtag#newbuilding programme now stands at 11 vessels, with total capacity exceeding 1.2 million tons.
