Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi has participated in the 10th summit of the Trilateral Cooperation Mechanism among Egypt, Cyprus, and Greece, as well as the second meeting of the Joint Higher Governmental Committee between Egypt and Cyprus. Following these meetings, a press conference was held, attended by Cypriot President Nikos Christodoulides and Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
After welcoming the Presidents and guests, the Egyptian President stated that Egypt had conducted rich and constructive discussions with both Cyprus and Greece. The discussions focused on ways to enhance joint cooperation in various fields, particularly in maritime economic cooperation and increasing trade and investment exchange.
He added that it was agreed on the necessity of developing joint projects in renewable energy, natural gas transport, and enhancing the infrastructure for electrical interconnection between the three countries, which would contribute to regional integration in the energy sector. He also welcomed the signing of a number of memorandums of understanding on the trilateral level between Egypt, Greece, and Cyprus, as well as on the bilateral level between Egypt and Cyprus.
The Egyptian President also expressed his pleasure with the tangible progress in many areas of cooperation between Egypt and Cyprus, including cooperation in energy, the investment of natural resources in the Mediterranean Sea, in addition to collaboration in the fields of maritime security, technology, education, and scientific research.
