Reports circulated on social media claiming that the bulk carrier ZEINAB was damaged during recent military activity. However, no official confirmation has been issued by the vessel's owner, manager, flag administration, or the relevant maritime authorities.
The reports emerged amid heightened military activity in the region following Ukraine's large-scale overnight drone attacks targeting Russian maritime infrastructure in the Sea of Azov.
Ukraine's military stated that it had targeted 21 Russian fuel tankers, along with four tugboats, two cargo vessels, and a dredger, as part of its campaign to disrupt fuel supplies and logistics supporting Russian forces in occupied Ukrainian territories.
Photos circulating online, have not been verified. showing damage to the bulk carrier ZEINAB, have also emerged. However, their authenticity and connection to the vessel have not been independently verified.
According to the latest Equasis records, the 26,441-dwt bulk carrier ZEINAB (IMO 9070424) is owned by ZEINAB Shipping Co., an Iraqi-owned company. Since 2023, the vessel has been under the commercial, technical, and ISM management of DXB Shipping & Ship Management, based in Mersin, Türkiye. ZEINAB sails under the flag of St. Kitts and Nevis.
