H.E. Eng. Fawaz Alsahli, President of the Transport General Authority (TGA), led the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s delegation participating in the 137th Session of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) Council, held in London, United Kingdom.
The participation reflects Saudi Arabia’s commitment to strengthening its presence in international maritime forums and supporting the development of the maritime transport sector.
During the session, the Saudi delegation took part in discussions on key maritime transport issues, including enhancing the efficiency of the maritime sector, reinforcing maritime safety and security, and advancing international cooperation.
On the sidelines of the meetings, H.E. the President of the TGA held a series of bilateral meetings with representatives of governments and international organizations to explore opportunities for strengthening cooperation, exchanging expertise, and showcasing the Kingdom’s achievements in developing the maritime sector, in line with the National Transport and Logistics Strategy and Saudi Vision 2030.
The TGA affirmed that the Kingdom’s participation reflects its active role within the IMO and its commitment to contributing to the development of international maritime policies, strengthening cooperation with countries and international organizations, and reinforcing compliance with international conventions and standards related to the safety, security, and sustainability of maritime transport.
