Grandweld announced the signing a contract with Specialities Construction (SCC) of Kuwait to build four 27.5 meter 50t BP tractor tugs. The vessels will operate in Shuwaikh Port for Kuwait Port Authority as escort tugs.
Grandweld was successful in winning this project due to their competitive tender and focus on customer needs, ensuring the design included Escort Notation, Z-drive propulsion and added capabilities such as fire fighting & oil recovery.
Grandweld selected Robert Allan Ltd to produce the customized TRAktor 2700-Z basic design, with Grandweld’s engineering department producing the 3D production design.
