Sallaum Lines is taking another significant step toward the future of sustainable shipping with the signing of a new shipbuilding agreement for a next generation of advanced 8,600 CEU PCTC vessels. LNG-fuelled and ammonia-ready, the new vessels represent an important milestone in the expansion and renewal of Sallaum Lines’ fleet, strengthening its ability to serve evolving global vehicle transportation markets while supporting its long-term strategy.
Sallaum Lines has always been focused on connecting markets, supporting its customers, and shaping the future of global vehicle transportation. Today, the company is taking another step forward as the maritime and automotive industries continue to evolve rapidly.
The vehicle transportation sector is evolving, driven by technological developments, the growth of electric vehicles, and changing global trade patterns. Sallaum Lines is responding to these developments through continued investment in fleet renewal and vessel capabilities.
“That is why we are investing in a new generation of vessels designed specifically for our operations, our customers, and our long-term strategy,” said Hassan Sallaum, Executive Director of Sallaum Lines.
Hassan Sallaum also announced the signing of the new shipbuilding agreement:
“I am proud to announce that we have signed a new ship build agreement with two of the Chinese leading shipyards, for our next generation of advanced 8,600 CEU PCTC vessels.”
The project marks another important milestone in the expansion and renewal of Sallaum Lines’ fleet, bringing its active new-build investment to more than one billion dollars.
Built for Tomorrow
The vessels are designed around Sallaum Lines’ operations and the needs of its customers, offering greater efficiency, flexibility, and sustainability while serving its global network and a wide range of cargo, from passenger and electric vehicles to high and heavy and project cargo.
Sustainability is also at the heart of the new vessel programme. Equipped with LNG-fuel technology and ammonia-ready capabilities, the vessels are built to reduce emissions today while preparing for cleaner fuels tomorrow.
“The vessels are designed around who we are and what we do, offering greater efficiency, flexibility and sustainability, while serving our global network and a wide range of cargo from passenger and electric vehicles to high and heavy and project cargo,” said Hassan Sallaum.
He added that the vessels are “built to reduce emission today, prepare for the cleaner fuel for tomorrow.”
The latest investment highlights Sallaum Lines’ continued fleet development strategy and its transition toward more sustainable maritime operations.
“At Sallaum Lines, we do not simply follow the future of shipping, but we believe in creating it,” said Hassan Sallaum.
