ONE has added the 13,932 TEU container ship "One Satisfaction" to its fleet as part of its program to renew and expand its Neo-Panamax fleet. This vessel is the eighth in a series of 15 ships ordered by the company, according to Alphaliner.
The "ONE Satisfaction" boasts a length of 336 meters and a beam of 51 meters, equivalent to 20 rows of containers, with a deadweight tonnage of 160,000 tons and a draft of up to 17 meters. The vessel is powered by a MAN B&W 7G95ME-C10-LPSCR main engine, generating 48,000 kilowatts, enabling it to reach speeds of up to 22 seconds.
The ship operates on a conventional propulsion system and is equipped with a gas purification system. It is also being prepared for future conversion to a methanol or ammonium propulsion system.
The ONE-S class units, built by the Imabare Group, include an additional 40-foot container berth located above the barwa unloading platform, a feature not found in Korean-designed docks.
The ship will begin commercial operations on the Premier Alliance's "FE3" line, a route linking Asia and Europe, combining large-capacity container ships with 14,000 TEU vessels.
It is noted that, according to data from the Japanese company, after peaking in the third quarter of 2025 and exceeding the 3.3 million TEU mark, it declined significantly in the last quarter to reach approximately 3.2 million TEUs, reflecting pressures in global demand or changes in supply chains.
Comparing the last quarter of 2024 with the same quarter of 2025 reveals the extent of the decline; earnings before interest and taxes (EBITDA) fell from about $1.6 billion at the end of 2024 to only about $0.5 billion at the end of 2025.
The data indicates that the Japanese shipping line “ONE” is facing operational challenges and pressure on profit margins, as the stability of shipping volumes in some periods did not prevent a decline in net income, which may be attributed to lower freight rates or higher operating costs by the end of 2025.
