Glosten has been contracted by American Marine Corporation (AMC) to deliver the complete vessel design and engineering package for two new 122-foot oceangoing line-haul tugs.
Based on Glosten’s existing CT-120 tug concept, the vessels have been developed in close collaboration with AMC, drawing on decades of operational experience while providing the capability, range, and reliability required for demanding offshore operations. Each tug will have a usable fuel capacity of 130,000 gallons and is expected to deliver more than 85 MT of bollard pull.
The new tugs will represent a notable addition to the U.S. fleet at a time when purpose-built oceangoing line-haul tug construction has become increasingly rare. They will also mark AMC’s first new-build tugs in its 50-year history and launch the first shipbuilding program at New Pacific Industrial’s facility in Vancouver, Washington.
Glosten said it is honored to be working alongside AMC and New Pacific on this new generation of oceangoing line-haul capability, with the first vessel scheduled for delivery in 2028.
