Mawani has announced the addition of the new shipping service AR2 ASIA REDSEA, operated by WAN HAI LINES, to Jeddah Islamic Port. This move contributes to enhancing the competitiveness of Saudi ports on the global maritime transport map, supporting the smooth flow of trade, expanding commercial opportunities, and boosting operational efficiency.
The new service connects Jeddah Islamic Port with 10 regional and global ports, including Shanghai, Ningbo, Nansha, and Shekou in China; Port Klang in Malaysia; Aqaba in Jordan; Sokhna and Alexandria in Egypt; and Izmit and Kumport in Turkey, with a total capacity of 3,700 TEUs.
This step comes as part of Mawani’s ongoing efforts to improve the Kingdom’s ranking in global performance indicators and promote national exports, in line with the objectives of the National Transport and Logistics Strategy, aimed at solidifying the Kingdom’s standing as a global logistics hub bridging three continents.
It is worth noting that Jeddah Islamic Port is the largest port on the Red Sea coast. Thanks to its strategic location and 62 multipurpose berths, the port holds a central position both regionally and globally, playing a pivotal role in advancing the Kingdom’s leadership in the maritime sector.
