On June 19th, the maritime spotlight will turn to Athens as it hosts the second edition of the East Mediterranean Maritime Conference (EMMC 2025). The event is backed by the Greek Ministry of Maritime Affairs, alongside the Mediterranean Ports Association (MEDports), the Hellenic Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Hellenic Chamber of Shipping, the Port of Piraeus, as well as other shipping lines, port operators, and local and regional shipping companies.
Organized by Robban Assafina, the leading MENA maritime media platform, the conference stands as a prominent event bringing together an elite group of decision-makers, experts, shipowners, and operators, alongside key maritime stakeholders from across the Middle East, Greece, and the broader East Mediterranean, in addition to wide participation from regional and international maritime companies and organizations.
High-Level Attendance
The conference will commence with a keynote address by Mr. Stefanos Gkikas, Deputy Minister of Maritime Affairs and Insular Policy of Greece, who is participating as one of the event’s distinguished speakers. The conference will also welcome a number of prominent maritime figures, including Mr. Jordi Torrent, Director of Strategy at the Port of Barcelona and Secretary General of the MEDports Association; and Dr. Emmanouil Nikolaidis, Secretary General of the Nautical Institute (Hellenic Branch). The conference will also feature representatives and speakers from prominent regional and global maritime companies and organizations, including Piraeus Port Authority, Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani), Sohar Port and Freezone, ClassNK, DNV, MMC Group and the General Company for Ports of Iraq.
