DP World Santos reports that it has completed the implementation of the Portchain Connect system to simplify its berth alignment process with shipping lines.

The terminal operator will use the technology to connect with customers through digital handshakes and data sharing, allowing DP World Santos to receive real-time schedule changes and move count updates directly from carrier systems.

As events develop, the terminal can also use the software to respond and make counter proposals, to align the vessel schedule with the terminal berth plan.

“We are excited to work with DP World Santos and help them drive efficiencies in their berth alignment process by facilitating streamlined data exchange with their shipping line customers,” said Thor Thorup, CCO and Co-Founder of Copenhagen-based Portchain.

“We look forward to continuing our collaboration and continuously improving the platform based on user feedback.”

DP World operates one of Brazil’s largest private port terminals at the facility, which is situated on the left bank of the Port of Santos in São Paulo and has an annual movement capacity of 1.3 million TEUs.
