Navarino and Cobham Satcom have enhanced their strategic partnership to supply next-generation satellite communications terminals to ships for improved connectivity
They have formed a long-term collaboration to introduce Cobham Satcom’s Sailor XTR antennas with Navarino’s global connectivity services for new installations.
This covers deployment of these very small aperture terminals (VSAT) on commercial ships and vessels in maritime and offshore markets for Ku-band and Ka-band applications.
Sailor XTR antennas will be used for deploying Inmarsat Fleet Xpress, a hybrid of Global Xpress (GX) Ka-band and L-band back-up, as Navarino is the world’s largest value-added reseller of this service.
Cobham Satcom’s technology will also be offered as a full portfolio of Ku-band solutions leveraging geostationary satellite networks from Intelsat and SES.
Navarino serves maritime fleets worldwide which will be boosted with access to both Ka- and Ku-band antennas from Cobham Satcom’s Sailor XTR portfolio.
“The strategic partnership with Cobham Satcom includes a significant commitment to delivering new capabilities only possible with the Sailor XTR technology platform,” said Navarino director of strategic relations Andreas Dimitriadis.
“This will help us to strengthen our network diversity and meet the market’s need for cost-effective connectivity solutions with integral flexibility for the future,” he said.
