The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) has received a report of a maritime incident approximately 9 nautical miles northeast of Ash Shishah, Oman.
According to the vessel’s Master, the oil tanker was struck by an unknown projectile, causing damage to the engine room and leaving the vessel disabled.
All crew members have been reported safe, while the potential environmental impact remains unknown at the time of reporting.
Authorities are investigating the incident. UKMTO has advised vessels operating in the area to transit with caution and report any suspicious activity.
