The Maritime Authority of Panama, regent of the Panama Ship Registry, held its annual meeting with the Recognized Organizations (RO) and Recognized Protection Organizations (OPR), which are in charge of the certification and regulatory services of its fleet.
This meeting was held in face-to-face and virtual mode, with the participation of regional and operations managers from the 31 ORs and OPRs who work with the Panamanian administration from different countries in America, Europe and Asia; its main objective being to keep the certification processes and provision of regulatory services aligned with national and international regulations.
At the event, topics related to the statistics of the behavior and performance of the fleet were presented in the different memorandums of understanding (PSC MoU); requirements related to requirements related to the MLC Convention (2006) and the obligation to maintain current and valid financial guarantees on board required by the different IMO / ILO Codes and Conventions; in addition to measures related to the control and monitoring of the existing fleet, not to mention issues related to the processes related to due diligence and fleet surveillance.

Likewise, the International Safety Management Code (ISM), the civil liability of the Panamanian fleet and information related to statutory certificates, such as:
- Certificate of Insurance or other financial guarantee related to Civil Liability arising from Damages due to Oil Pollution for ship fuel, 2001 (BCC).
- Certificate of Insurance or other financial guarantee with respect to Wreck Debris Removal (WRC).
- Certificate of Insurance or other financial guarantee related to Civil Liability for Damages caused by Pollution of sea waters by Hydrocarbons (CLC).
- Certificate of Insurance or other financial guarantee regarding liability for death or injury of passengers.
