According to information provided by local authorities, the tanker was struck by an unknown projectile, causing a fire onboard the vessel. The fire has since been extinguished.
All crew members are reported safe and accounted for, while no environmental impact has been reported following the incident.
Authorities are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the attack.
UKMTO has advised vessels transiting the area to exercise caution and report any suspicious activity.
