ARO announced the successful reflagging of its offshore drilling rig “Bob Palmer-50” under the flag of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, during an official ceremony held in Ras Al Khair on September 24, coinciding with World Maritime Day.
The ceremony was attended by senior leaders and representatives from ARO, the Transport General Authority (TGA), and International Maritime Industries (IMI), underscoring the significance of the milestone.
The reflagging reflects continued progress in strengthening the Kingdom’s offshore drilling and maritime capabilities and advancing Saudi Vision 2030.
One of the world’s largest offshore drilling rigs, Bob Palmer has made a significant contribution to the Kingdom’s offshore energy landscape. Through ARO’s stewardship, the rig has consistently exemplified operational excellence, robust safety performance, and the reliability required to support critical offshore drilling activities.
