The Manager of the Port of Mogadishu, Amb Mohamed Ali Nur, today received Dr. Ahmed Faghi Elmi at the Mogadishu Port headquarters, in a meeting that focused on cooperation opportunities in the areas of vocational training, port logistics and skills development.
The meeting was also attended by Mr. Abdullahi Hamud, former Minister of State in the Office of the Prime Minister of Somalia.
During the meeting, the FORLIS Project Training and cooperation on port logistics and logistics services between Italy and Somalia, funded by the Friuli-Venezia Giulia Region, was presented.
Special focus was placed on 14 young Somalis, who are currently in the preparation and learning of the Italian language at the Rawdah Youth Training Center in Mogadishu, before departing for Italy.
The meeting discussed opportunities for cooperation, including a study visit for young people to the Port of Mogadishu before their trip to Italy, the possibility of an internship at the end of the program within the Trieste port system, and the development of Training of Trainers programs.
The manager welcomed the project, highlighting the importance for Somalia of developing technical skills, especially those related to ports and logistics.
