Naïa Island Dubai, a development by Shamal Holding off Dubai’s Jumeirah coastline, has reached a construction milestone, with its full footprint now above sea level following land reclamation works by Dutch company Van Oord.
Shamal Holding said the island’s full footprint is now above sea level, with its silhouette fully formed off Dubai’s coastline, marking a key stage in the project’s development.
In August 2025, Van Oord secured the contract for land reclamation at a site located just off Jumeirah’s coastline.
Naïa Island Dubai will cover approximately 13 hectares and feature 6 kilometers of beaches. According to Shamal Holding, the project is designed to reflect the natural characteristics of an island, with an emphasis on preserving the existing beach environment, open green spaces and coastal terrain.
As part of the project, Van Oord reclaimed more than 28 million cubic meters of sand and placed approximately 4.3 million tons of rock.
The company will also install marine infrastructure, including quay walls and culverts, with a focus on nature-based enhancements. The works include reorienting existing beaches and relocating rock groynes to support coastal protection and the planned guest experience.
