KICKSTER GROUP announces the integration of a new EU Allowance (EUA) Request-for-Quote (RFQ) service within the KICKSTER FUELEU MARKETPLACE, expanding the platform’s capabilities beyond FuelEU Maritime pooling and providing shipping companies with streamlined access to an additional element of their emissions compliance strategy.
The new functionality, provided by a primary regulated intermediary, allows registered users to request quotations for the purchase or sale of EUAs directly through the Marketplace. Users can specify their transaction requirements through a dedicated RFQ workflow and receive a quotation from a qualified trading counterparty, subject to the relevant KYC and onboarding requirements.
The integration represents a further step in the evolution of the KICKSTER FUELEU MARKETPLACE from a digital Pooling marketplace towards a more comprehensive environment for managing maritime regulatory exposure.
While FuelEU Maritime and the EU Emissions Trading System (EU ETS) are distinct regulatory frameworks, both increasingly influence the compliance strategies and financial planning of shipping companies operating in Europe. Bringing access to both within the same digital environment allows users to evaluate their exposure and move from analysis to execution through a more integrated workflow.
“Our objective has always been to simplify the way maritime companies understand and manage increasingly complex environmental compliance obligations. FuelEU pooling remains at the heart of the Marketplace, but our users are managing FuelEU and EU ETS exposure at the same time. Integrating an EUA RFQ service is therefore a natural evolution: users can assess their position, access the market and manage different compliance needs from one environment”, said Pietro Valaguzza, CEO of KICKSTER GROUP.
FROM COMPLIANCE CALCULATION TO MARKET EXECUTION
The EUA RFQ functionality will be accessible through the Marketplace’s Tools section, alongside the integrated FuelEU and EUA Calculator. This creates a simple user journey: companies can assess their regulatory exposure through the calculator, request an EUA quotation when required, and subsequently manage the resulting transaction process through the platform.
Under the RFQ model, the Marketplace facilitates access to the quotation process, while the selected trading provider acts as the counterparty to the EUA transaction following successful KYC and counterparty onboarding.
The approach enables KICKSTER to expand the services available to Marketplace participants without transforming the FuelEU trading floor into a multi-product exchange. FuelEU pooling remains the platform’s core marketplace, while complementary tools and execution services are progressively integrated around it.
BUILDING A CONNECTED COMPLIANCE ECOSYSTEM
KICKSTER launched the FUELEU MARKETPLACE in March 2026 to address a fragmented and relatively opaque market for FuelEU Maritime pooling through greater price transparency, digital workflows and aggregation of market participants. Since launch, the platform has continued to evolve with new functionalities designed around stakeholder feedback, including market alerts and API access to live Marketplace data.
The introduction of EUA RFQs continues this development strategy: rather than treating individual environmental obligations in isolation, KICKSTER aims to provide maritime companies with a connected digital environment in which regulatory exposure can be calculated, evaluated and acted upon. “The next stage of digital compliance is not simply adding more information. It is connecting information with action.
Our ambition is to reduce the distance between understanding an exposure and being able to manage it efficiently”, declared Pietro Valaguzza, CEO of KICKSTER GROUP
