Aqaba Container Terminal welcomed the container vessel KOTA ODYSSEY, operated by Pacific International Lines, on her maiden call to Jordan, marking another milestone that reflects global shipping lines’ confidence in the terminal’s operational excellence and readiness to accommodate next-generation vessels.
The welcoming ceremony took place in the presence of Ugo Vincent, Regional Head of PIL, alongside a delegation representing CEO Harald Nijhof, and attended by strategic partners and key stakeholders from across the maritime and logistics sector.
Built in 2025, the vessel is classified as Post-Panamax, with a capacity of 8,200 TEUs, and is powered by dual-fuel technology using liquefied natural gas (LNG) and bio-methane, enhancing operational efficiency while contributing to lower carbon emissions.
The arrival of this vessel reinforces Aqaba Container Terminal’s position as a key regional logistics hub connecting Asia, the Middle East, and Africa, and supports its strategic vision of becoming a green port by attracting cleaner and more efficient vessels.
This milestone reflects the terminal’s continued investments in infrastructure and operational capabilities, strengthening its competitiveness and enhancing supply chain efficiency to better serve regional and global trade.
