Aqaba Container Terminal (ACT) has reaffirmed its commitment to environmental excellence by continuing its compliance with the internationally recognized ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management System standard.
The ISO 14001:2015 certification was officially received by ACT’s Chief Executive Officer, Harald Nijhof, alongside Eng. Feras Altaweil, General Manager of Security, Safety, Health and Environment, and Eng. AbdAlwahab Alshiyab, Certification Coordinator and Environmental Supervisor, together with members of the company’s Environmental Committee. The certification was awarded by Bureau Veritas – BIVAC Jordan following the successful completion of the final environmental audit conducted on 15–16 February 2026.
Based on the audit results, ACT has officially maintained its ISO 14001:2015 certification through 2028, reflecting the company’s sustained commitment to implementing the highest international environmental management standards. Bureau Veritas – BIVAC Jordan is a globally recognized certification and auditing body, providing specialized technical support and certification services across multiple industries.
This achievement underscores ACT’s dedication, as Jordan’s gateway to the world and the region, to continuously applying globally recognized environmental standards. ISO 14001:2015 provides a comprehensive framework that enables organizations to enhance environmental performance, strengthen operational controls, and minimize environmental impact in alignment with global best practices in sustainability and decarbonization.
The certification continuation follows ACT’s successful completion of its first external surveillance audit under the current certification cycle, further reinforcing its leadership position as an environmentally responsible port in the region.
