US Coast Guard, New York City Fire Department (FDNY), and New York City Police Department (NYPD) crews responded to a ferry that grounded with 125 people onboard in New York, on June 4.
More specifically, watchstanders at US Coast Guard Sector New York command center received a report that the 150-foot Seastreak ferry, Commodore, ran aground, and was in fact taking on water in Bushwick Inlet in Brooklyn, New York.
After the incident, three boatcrews from US Coast Guard Station New York were launched and started rescue efforts with FDNY and NYPD crews.
NYPD and FDNY managed to safely evacuate all passengers and crew-members from the ferry, while US Coast Guard Station New York members went aboard with FDNY members to perform dewatering operations.
