Air Products and the Port of Authority will collaborate to accelerate the production, supply chain and consumption of hydrogen in the North of Germany and Free Hanseatic State of Hamburg.

Both parties are focused on identifying real opportunities that would support the stimulation of hydrogen demand and subsequent decarbonisation of heavy-duty vehicles and industry.

Commenting on the collaboration, Kurt Lefevere, Vice-President Northern Continent at Air Products, noted that: "Ports and their industrial clusters in Hamburg and around the world, have a critical role to play in expanding hydrogen’s role in the energy transition".

In addition, Michael Westhagemann, Hamburg’s Senator for Economics and Innovation, mentioned that the interest of Air Products underlines the potential of the Port of Hamburg with regards to the development of a hydrogen infrastructure.
