RAK Ports, in Ras Al Khaimah, UAE, and international ports operator, Hutchison Port Holdings have signed an agreement reaffirming a long-standing partnership that will see Hutchison continue to operate container terminal services at Saqr Port through to 2037.

Saqr Port, one of the largest bulk-handling port in the Middle East, aims to position itself as a container trade gateway with direct connections to major markets. It cites a recently launched container service to India’s Mundra Port, as a reflection of the Emirate’s potential for growth.
Roy Cummins, CEO of RAK Ports, and Andy Tsoi, Managing Director for the Middle East and Africa at Hutchison Port Holdings, signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organisations. The extended collaboration is expected to drive new investment into the RAK Ports container terminal, although no precise details have been provided as yet.
