King Abdul Aziz Port in Dammam, represented by its strategic partner and the operator of the port’s container terminals, the Saudi Global Ports Company "SGP," has received 15 Rubber-Tired Gantry (RTG) cranes. These cranes arrived on two ships, reflecting the increasing efforts by the Saudi Ports Authority "Mawani" to develop the port’s infrastructure in line with the targets of the National Transport and Logistics Strategy (NTLS), solidifying the Kingdom’s standing as a global logistics hub bridging the three continents.

This development is part of the ongoing plans to transform King Abdul Aziz Port in Dammam into a sustainable, competitive global hub, according to the commercial attribution contracts signed between Mawani and the Saudi Global Ports, with an investment value of seven billion SAR. This contributes to enhancing operational efficiency and increasing capacity.

The use of modern cranes supports the Kingdom’s ports system, reinforces the Kingdom’s growing role in the global logistics services chain, and enhances the capabilities of King Abdul Aziz Port in Dammam. The port boasts advanced operational and logistical capabilities with 43 fully equipped berths and a capacity of up to 105 million tons of cargo and containers. Additionally, it features several specialized terminals and advanced equipment, enabling the handling of various types of cargo.
