ASRY, the Arabian Gulf’s leading maritime repair and fabrication facility, has recently celebrated working women in conjunction with the International Day for Women in Maritime at the company's headquarters in Hidd, in appreciation of women’s distinguished role and remarkable contributions to the maritime industry. 

Attended by ASRY’s Managing Director, representatives of the Executive Management and a number of Divisional Managers, the celebration was held with the aim of spotlighting women working in the maritime industry and highlighting their achievements as key partners in the economic advancement as well as their valuable contributions to the company’s success.  

It is worth noting that the International Day for Women in Maritime is observed on 18 May every year. 

ASRY Managing Director, Mr. Mazen Mohammed Matar praised the role of working women and their outstanding contributions to the national development in a variety of fields. He also expressed his appreciation for all the efforts of ASRY female employees and congratulated them on this international celebration.

Ms. Sahar Ataeei, ASRY’s Chief Financial Officer commented “Celebrating this occasion is a culmination of women’s distinguished role as key players in the nation-building process." 

“Women have strengthened their role with hard work, courage, determination as reliable partners in the company’s sustainable development process where they have proven their worth and exceled through their effective participation and substantial contributions in all fields to become inspiring leaders in the Maritime industry” Ms. Ataeei added 

It is worth noting that ASRY has recently attracted diverse talented national women competencies as part of its comprehensive modernization and development plan on various levels, from this point, ASRY has appointed Ms. Hanan Alali as Business Transformation Manager. Mrs. Alali brings rich experience of over 18 years in Business Transformation, Digital Solutions and Human Resources with Banking and Aviation sectors.

One more national competence who came onboard ASRY's management team was Ms. Sara Abdin who joined as the Head of Corporate Communications.  Ms. Abdin came with theoretical and practical experience that spans to more than 18 years in Marketing, Public Relations, Event Management & Strategies, Media & Communication, and Human Resources Management with reputable firms. 

ASRY has also taken pride to announce the appointment of Ms. Ameera AlShaiba as the first female Diver to join ASRY team and the first ever to join an industrial establishment. Ms. Ameera is a certified diver who holds an advanced license in open water diving and an active member of the Bahrain Diving Volunteer Team. 

ASRY has also appointed Ms. Noor Seyadi as the first Bahraini female to join ASRY Engineering team, in addition, Ms. Shoug Hussain who has recently joined ASRY’s Ship Repair Department as a project coordinator. Both joined ASRY as Trainee Engineers and undergone an extensive training and development program until they were promoted to their current positions. 

It’s vital to mention, that the focus on the development of human capital, attracting qualified national competencies, following the principles of diversity and gender equality are important elements of ASRY’s comprehensive modernization and development strategy.
