Lieutenant General Osama Rabie, Chairman of the Suez Canal Authority, and Mr. Wei Jian Chen, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of TEDA Egypt Investment Company and General Manager of TEDA China and Africa Company, discussed ways to enhance joint cooperation, in the presence of Ms. Nahla Mahmoud Emad, CEO of TEDA Egypt Investment Company, and a number of members of the Authority’s Board of Directors and its leaders, at the Guidance Building in Ismailia Governorate.
At the beginning of the meeting, Lieutenant General Osama Rabie stressed the Authority’s keenness to achieve integration with the General Authority for the Suez Canal Economic Zone and joint coordination with all industrial developers and investors to maximize the benefit from the distinguished location of the canal and transform the surrounding area into a global industrial and logistical center and the ideal destination for providing integrated logistical services.
The head of the authority expressed his readiness for joint coordination and openness to cooperation in various fields of work with the Chinese company TEDA, the most important industrial developer in the Ain Sokhna region and one of the strategic partners in industrial development in the region.
For his part, Mr. Wei Jian Chen, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of TEDA Egypt Investment Company, expressed his hope to enhance cooperation with the Suez Canal Authority and open new horizons for joint work in a way that achieves the common interests of both sides.
The Chairman of the Board of Directors of TEDA Egypt Investment Company affirmed that the TEDA Industrial Zone has witnessed a major leap during the last five years with the support of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, and as a result of the growing closeness in diplomatic and economic relations between Egypt and China.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed ways to enhance cooperation to support industrial development in the TEDA industrial zone in Ain Sokhna and link it to a comprehensive system supported by integrated logistics services and advanced service cities, and what this requires in terms of making more use of the navigational and logistical services provided by the Suez Canal.
The two sides also discussed mechanisms for cooperation in the field of localizing the marine unit industry and providing maintenance and repair services through the shipyards and companies affiliated with the Authority, and agreed to open direct communication channels with several Chinese companies operating in this sector.
