MAKEEN, Saudi Engines Manufacturing Company, has signed its first purchase orders with International Maritime Industries (IMI) to supply marine engines and associated equipment for four 63,000-deadweight-ton (DWT) bulk carriers.
The agreement was finalized in Ras Al Khair by MAKEEN CEO Fawaz Al-Thubaiti and IMI CEO Eng. Abdullah Al-Ghamdi.
The contract represents a step toward strengthening local content in Saudi Arabia’s maritime sector and advancing domestic capabilities in marine propulsion systems. It is expected to support the continued development of the Kingdom’s shipbuilding and maritime manufacturing ecosystem.
