The National Shipping Company of Saudi Arabia (Bahri) saw its profits rise 12% last year to 2.43 billion riyals ($648 million), supported by higher global shipping rates, according to a disclosure published on the Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) website on Monday.
The company attributed the profit growth to a rise in gross profit for the offshore oil sector by 755 million riyals as a result of improved operational performance and global shipping rates for the sector during 2025 compared to 2024, as well as an increase in profits from the company’s share in equity-invested companies by 134 million riyals during the past year.
The increase in net profit for Bahri was limited by a decrease in gross profit for the Bahri Chemicals sector by 324 million riyals, and the Bahri Integrated Logistics sector by 37 million riyals during 2025, compared to 2024.
Financial data showed that revenues grew by 9.1% during the past year to 10.3 billion riyals ($2.7 billion), as a result of increased revenues in several sectors, especially the maritime oil sector, where revenues increased by 1.26 billion riyals, and the maritime integrated logistics services sector by 37 million riyals, as a result of increased operational activities and higher global transportation prices during the past year.
While limiting the increase in revenues, the revenues of the Bahri Chemicals sector decreased by 396 million riyals, and the Bahri Bulk Cargo sector decreased by 87 million riyals during the current period compared to the same period of the previous year.
Fourth quarter results.
Bahri’s profits jumped 106% to 977.7 million riyals during the fourth quarter of last year, supported by rising global shipping rates.
The company's revenues increased by 47.2% during the period from last October to December, recording levels of 3.26 billion riyals.
