The Panama Maritime Authority (AMP) , as the governing body of the Panamanian Ship Registry, reports that it is aware of the incidents that have affected two Panamanian-flagged vessels.
A bulk carrier was hit by a drone on February 26 while it was carrying out cargo operations in the port of Tuapse, Russia. As a result, the vessel suffered minor damage and is currently undergoing repairs in the port of Ambarli, Turkey.
Meanwhile, a Panamanian-flagged container ship was hit by a missile on March 2nd in the port of Odessa, Ukraine. Fortunately, the vessel was not damaged and its crew is safe.
Representatives of the company that owns the ship confirmed that the missile hit the port facilities, a short distance from where the ship was docked.
The AMP continues to monitor both cases through the relevant offices. The institution is working closely with the authorities investigating the incidents and is providing support to the shipowners involved.
