The city of Jeddah hosted on 29 January 2026, the inaugural edition of the Saudi Maritime Awards Night 2026, held at the Ritz-Carlton Jeddah, in an event recognized as one of the most prominent specialized maritime gatherings in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the region.
The Saudi Maritime Awards Night aims to celebrate outstanding achievements and institutional leadership across the fields of shipping, ports, maritime logistics, shipbuilding, and ship repair, in addition to supporting sectors within the maritime industry. The event served as a unifying platform for decision-makers and key stakeholders to highlight successful experiences that contribute to enhancing the competitiveness of the maritime sector both regionally and internationally.
The event was attended by Mr. Zeid Kalaldeh, Chairman of the Jordan Shipping Association, alongside broad participation from Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, including the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, the State of Qatar, the Kingdom of Bahrain, and the Sultanate of Oman.
During the ceremony, the Best Chief Executive Officer Award was presented to Mr. Harald Neijhof, Chief Executive Officer of Aqaba Container Terminal, in recognition of his distinguished leadership and excellence in port management.
Notably, Aqaba Container Terminal was the only Jordanian participant in this prestigious regional event, reflecting the advanced standing of Jordan’s maritime sector on the regional and international maritime map.
